The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is responsible for the commemoration in perpetuity of 1.7 million members of the Commonwealth forces who died in the two world wars. The Commission's Debt of Honour Register - a search by surname database - makes it possible to identify the exact location, by cemetery plot or memorial panel, where any given name is commemorated.
